The HIES 2016 represents a milestone in the history of statistics in Liberia as it is the country’s first year long survey that is statistically representative at the National, Regional and County level. The multi-year project started with the first attempt of the HIES in 2014 which unfortunately had to be halted due to the Ebola Virus Disease (EVD) outbreak. A rerun of the HIES was started in January 2016 and this report marks its successful completion. The project was implemented by the Liberia Institute of Statistics and GeoInformation Services (LISGIS), with support from the Government of Liberia (GoL) as well as from the World Bank (WB), the European Union (EU), the United States Agency for International Development (USAID), the Swedish International Development Corporation Agency (Sida) and the African Development Bank (AfDB).
