Conservation International, Liberia Last week, officially handed over a fully renovated and furnished office to the Zodua Land Management Committee

Last week, we officially handed over a fully renovated and furnished office to the Zodua Land Management Committee (ZLMC) in Garwula District, Grand Cape Mount County as part of Conservation Agreements negotiated last year with the Zodua communities to enhance protection of the critical 20,000-hectare Zodua forest and surrounding forests.

Apart from ZLMC office renovation, three Zodua communities(Gohn, Falie and Kanga) that are part of the conservation agreement have also received a range of benefits in exchange for the protection of their forests including conservation jobs (frontline Conservationists), assorted medical supplies, scholarships and agricultural benefits among others.

Our Project Manager Mr. Edward L.Massaquoi.Jr. and Project Director Ms.Toushi Itoka officially presented the renovated office to the representative of the County Development Superintendent Mr. Philip Zodua who subsequently handed it to the ZLMC Chairperson Mr. Varney Massaquoi. This is all thanks to support from the Global Environment Facility-funded ‘’Good Growth Partnership’ that includes the UNDP.
