The environment is intrinsically linked to human survival and development. It impacts human welfare. Reversely, human activities also affect the environment. Climate Change, due to human activities, and its ramifications around the world in 2021 has pronounced the significance of environmental issues and the urgent need for global actions towards protection of the environment. The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) is the institution in Liberia charged with the responsibility of protecting the environment. The Agency has developed this Strategic Plan for the next five years (2022 – 2026) to direct environmental governance and management in Liberia. This Executive Summary sets out the Focal Areas and Strategic Directions the Agency has purposefully chosen to take in those areas during this period, as well as the key actions and activities that will accomplish them.
