These quartz points are from HuangGangLiang, and commonly called Mongolian or Inner Mongolian quartz. This isn't your typically shiny quartz; this quartz is completely coated in a white crust and clumpy mineral growth.

On one side, the piece displays a long well-formed quartz point with a cluster of additional points and minerals attached. Cracks in the crust and broken ends reveal the first generation of growth was an icy clear colorless quartz. A second generation of growth occurred, depositing a thin sandy white crust on top. Studied closely, the crust appears composed of small white bumps and has a slight glitter like sand.

The point sticking out at right-angle is completely covered in small calcite crystals, with platelet growth all around the base. The larger form of this growth is known as "poker chip" in the industry because the thin platelets commonly grow in stacks.

On back side of the piece, it is nearly completely covered in an unknown opaque black mineral. I suspect it could be poorly-formed specularite hematite. At first glance this side looks unexceptional, but studied closer the entire surface is coated in a very fine poker chip style calcite in a light yellowish color. It looks like oysters covering a pier. There is one white point completely covered with—or composed of—stacked white platelets.

UV reactivity The calcite on this piece will fluoresce and phosphoresce moderately well under 365nm UV light. The denser calcite growth covering the quartz point has the best reaction. The fine growth on the black side has a much weaker reaction.

Finally found a great coffee/tea mug warmer
For a senior who is not tech savvy, this is perfect inexpensive, keeps drinks hot with 3 temperatures , automatically shuts off incase you forget but stays on while you’re using it. It works so good I bought bigger mugs so I Can fit two cups in one mug ,so I can relax drink my morning coffee with out having to get up & fix a second cup. Perfect size, easy to wipe off. Very satisfied .

not better than manual……!!!!!
Do Not Buy This Product. this review is coming at 1 April 2026. This can opener was purchased in October 2025. My initial review was that it worked well and did the job. It was meant to do however, after a few uses, I noticed that the can opener continue to move around and around the can even after the can lid had been cut open. in January 2026 it began to make more and more rotations around the can and the lid was not cut loose. After a few more uses. It just rotated and did nothing else. I sent an email to the company. I contacted Amazon about it. I’ve done everything that I can possibly see to do but I get no positive results. Consequently, I have a six month old can opener. It does not work. worked well for the first 10 or 20 uses; then the cutting edge just wore out (3-4mos.), so now my money was wasted. No explanation no offer, too bad.

Don't waste money on this one
Ordered in January 2026. Worked good the first few times. Now it just rotates around and around the can but doesn't cut anything. I'm so disappointed because it failed shortly after my return window closed.
