Garden quartz, also called lodolite, is the trade name for clear quartz included with chlorite to create a scene like a miniature mossy garden landscape. The different types of chlorite inclusions are colored by other trace elements to produce muted tones of green, purple, pink, and coppery browns, reds, and oranges. I think they’re like peering into a tide pool!

Garden quartz is generally sold polished to best reveal its internal features. The inclusions can make the garden quartz appear dark, so it can be especially captivating in bright light or when lit from underneath, illuminating the interior scene.

This piece of garden quartz has an intriguing kite-shaped flat layer of moss-green chlorite through it, creating a bold line that touches the surface on one side. I think this one looks like something you'd see in a NASA photo: there is a large round light pinkish chlorite inclusion surrounded by green chlorite inclusions and wispy colorless inclusions in the clear quartz. This one has some good rainbow-producing inclusions.

Note: because garden quartz is heavily included, it is common to see pitting on the surface where inclusions touch the surface and the softer material was pulled away in the polishing process. For the same reason it is also common to have light fracturing or chipping at points and junctions of polished faces. This specimen does exhibit these features!

Wonderful, simple book for children of all ages
Format: Hardcover
I am 65 years old and this was one of my first books. The revisions along the way have not changed the drawings that much. It is simple, but well illustrated, and gives a basic idea of good manners. I recommend it for every child - it makes them think about behavior. The way the author demonstrates "me first" and "whinney" have stuck with me all these years.

Great for encouraging speech
Format: Board book
I rarely write reviews but I just had to share my experience with this book. I have two year old twins. One has a diagnosed speech delay. They both love this book and are excited to read it. It has simple pictures that are easy for them to recognize and picture everyday things. They both love imitating the sounds. I think it’s a great for speech therapy for toddlers. Definitely recommend.

Perfect for early speech skills
Format: Board book
Our first child was speech delayed, so we're hitting the ground running this time with our 1 year old. This Imitation Book is PERFECT for introducing those early gestures and words to your little ones. There are interactive pages (like a door for knocking on and bubbles to pop) that really help your child engage with the book. Also, our 3 year old loves it right alongside his little brother! We also picked up the other 2 books in this collection to help aid in those early language skills.

As an SLP I love this simple engaging book
Format: Board book
Speech path here. I love this book. It was one of my son’s favorites and what I used to help him produce more words from 1-2years. He was my slowest to talk but loved the engaging sounds in this book. It’s simple but you can add a lot of info or new comments each time you read it with encouragement for your kiddo to produce simple early developing sounds. I utilized pausing with it too to tie my son the chance to produce the sounds. I gift it often now! Just wish it was a tadddd cheaper.

Fun and interactive.
Format: Board book
My one-year-old granddaughter loves this little book. There's no story, but it's interactive and fun, and the illustrations are cute and colorful. She enjoys doing all the things on the pages - knocking, waving, blowing, etc.
