Course Code: 25SPM013I
This two day, in-person workshop takes place at CBA over two Sundays, April 27th and May 4th, from 1PM to 4PM ET.
- Sunday, April 27th, from 1PM to 4PM ET
- Sunday, May 4th, from 1PM to 4PM ET
Please Note: Registration for this workshop closes on April 13, at 11:59 pm.
About the Workshop:
This two day, in-person workshop is taught by instructor Eva Parra.
In this workshop, you will master the cyanotype printing technique while exploring its connections to time, light, and presence. Through hands-on exercises—coating paper, imprinting with your body, objects, and images, and experimenting with natural light—you’ll create unique, cameraless images that capture reality and deepen your understanding of the process.
We will engage with a range of texts, materials and artworks, from reflections on photography and scientific studies on light’s effect on circadian rhythms to treaties on societal tiredness and yoga manuals. These readings will enrich your experience, guiding you to use your entire body to experiment with and reflect on cyanotype as a metaphor.
Suggested Materials:
- One of the sessions will take place in a nearby park, so students are encouraged to bring yoga mats or blankets to lay on the ground.
- Students are encouraged to bring objects and images to incorporate into their compositions.
All materials will be provided by CBA
