The Ibanez SR605E SR Standard 5-String electric bass is designed in true Ibanez fashion to combine the playability that the brand is known for, with tons of modern and unique features that are not only eye-catching but offer a playing experience from this instrument that even lives up to the way the instrument looks.
The SR605E SR Standard boasts a resonant, lightweight ash body, featuring a beautiful woodgrain visible underneath the Black Stained Burst finished, and coated with satin. Featuring a 5-piece jatoba/walnut neck, the SR605E is noted for its comfort and playability. The neck offers a 34-inch scale length, and features a medium dark rosewood fingerboard, topped with 24 medium frets and stunning abalone oval inlays.
Nordstrand Big Break pickups are this bass' tonal heart, though. A creation by pickup artisan Carey Nordstrand, these pickups are a combination of split-coil design within a soapbar-style housing, that offer a huge, full-bodied sound while maintaining the clarity and character reminiscent of single-coil pickups, all with noiseless operation. The absence of unwanted interference allows for an overall cleaner tone with the focus on playing, and not on hum. These pickups are further diversified by Ibanez's inclusion of custom electronics, featuring a 3-band EQ, EQ bypass switch, passive tone control on the treble pot, and a 3-way Mid frequency switch allows tonal flexibility.
