Product Details:

Cooking Method:

Thawing: Remove the halibut from the freezer and let it thaw in the refrigerator overnight or for about 6-8 hours. For quicker thawing, place the sealed halibut package in cold water for 1-2 hours.

 

Cooking:

Grilling:

  • Preheat the grill to medium-high heat.
  • Brush the halibut with olive oil and season with salt, pepper, and your favorite herbs.
  • Grill for 5-6 minutes on each side until the fish is opaque and flakes easily with a fork.

Pan-Seared:

  • Heat a skillet over medium-high heat and add a splash of oil.
  • Sear the halibut for 4-5 minutes on each side until golden brown and cooked through.

Baking:

  • Preheat the oven to 200°C (400°F).
  • Place the halibut on a baking sheet, drizzle with olive oil, and season with salt, pepper, and herbs.
  • Bake for 15-20 minutes until the fish is cooked through and flakes easily.

Steaming:

  • Place the halibut in a steamer basket over boiling water.
  • Cover and steam for 12-15 minutes until the fish is tender and cooked through.

Serving: Once cooked, serve the Indian Ocean Halibut immediately. Garnish with fresh herbs like dill or parsley and a squeeze of lemon for added flavor.

Optional Enhancements: Marinate the halibut in a mixture of olive oil, lemon juice, garlic, and fresh herbs before cooking. Pair with roasted vegetables, a fresh salad, or a light rice dish for a complete meal.
