The film was even more successful than the stage show from which it originated, and the soundtrack LP went gold, outselling it's original Broadway cast counterpart. It contains some definitive Minnelli performances, particularly her renditions of the title song and, in a duet with Joel Grey, on the salaciously satirical "Money, Money."
