From the days even before Christchurch was settled its cathedral has been the focus of ferocious public debate: Where should a cathedral be built? How would it be paid for? Should it be built in wood or stone in an earthquake-prone country? Who should oversee the building? It took far too long to build and its financial position has often been perilous. In recent times there have been fresh quarrels over a visitors’ centre and whether ratepayers should help to pay for necessary earthquake strengthening. And, when the building was left almost in ruins, should it be demolished and rebuilt or should it be restored? And, most important of all to the people of Christchurch, to whom did it really belong? It has been a tranquil and lovely place of devotion and worship, and a venue for the celebration of civic, national and international events. Thousands of tourists have walked its aisles and climbed its tower. It has won fame for the beauty of its music. Along with the Avon/?takaro River, its silhouette appears on all the city’s official signage. Christ Church Cathedral has stood in its square for close to a century and a half. Acclaimed historian Edmund Bohan tells the full and fascinating story of this beloved building, from its begin-nings in an embryonic settlement to its resurrection after disaster. In a lively, approachable text – well-illustrated throughout – he outlines the cathedral’s remarkable past and brings to life the equally remarkable people w

We threw it away
Color: Grey
This thing cannot stand on its own, the side bars bend since it is not sturdy enough to handle the material screens. After assembly, I was so mad at it, the pleasure of crushing it was better than returning it. I tryed to think of other ways to use it, but could not… i kept the screens, they are the strongest part of this thing. Very disappointing

Works well
Color: Beige
Does the trick for privacy and some noise blockage. This takes two people to put together. The construction make it easy to assemble, but makes it just as easy to come apart on its own.

Rustic Wall Shelves That Just Work
Size: 17inch, Color: Black
I bought these six floating shelves to add some storage and a cohesive look to a few walls around the house. The set has a rustic real wood vibe with an industrial edge, and the black finish keeps things feeling clean and understated. It turned out to be a practical way to create space without committing to a bulky cabinet, and I appreciated having multiple pieces to arrange in different rooms.
Installation was straightforward. The package includes 12 brackets, wall anchors and screws, plus clear directions, so I could get them up without much hassle. It takes about eight minutes to mount each shelf, and the hardware feels solid. The shelves can hold around 20 pounds each, which is plenty for everyday items like books, a plant, an alarm clock, or framed photos.
In use, the look is exactly what I wanted: sturdy, simple, and able to blend with existing decor across the bedroom, bathroom, kitchen, and living room. The real wood surface and the exposed metal brackets give a cohesive, rustic vibe that elevates plain walls and makes it easy to rotate items in and out.
One small note is that the boards are 17 inches long and about an inch thick, so planning spacing and wall space matters a bit. The brackets being visible is part of the look, not a flaw, but it means accurate mounting is important. Overall I am very pleased with the set and it earns a solid five stars.

I love how these look in the nook in my bathroom. I needed 6 inch shelves and this was way easier than ripping 8 inch from the hardware store
