Discover 'Saving the Market from Capitalism,' a compelling analysis by renowned economists that scrutinizes the financial system's impact following the economic crisis. This essential read delves into how the current organization of financial markets obstructs authentic market transactions, posing a significant threat to our economy and diminishing prospects for recovery. Despite the economic turmoil, financial markets have expanded unchecked, influencing policies and even altering governmental structures across the globe. The authors advocate for a reconsideration of radical reform proposals to protect vulnerable markets from the overpowering influence of dominant financial markets.Through careful exploration, the book presents progressive measures aimed at curbing the financial sector's authority, including innovative ideas such as local currencies designed to foster community economic growth. 'Saving the Market from Capitalism' is not merely an academic text; it's a timely call to action aimed at revitalizing markets and restoring the essential connection between creditors and debtors severed by modern finance's rise. Ideal for economics students, political enthusiasts, sociologists, and everyday readers, this enlightening book is a pivotal resource for anyone interested in understanding the intricacies of today's financial landscape and the future of economic resilience.

Description:
This new book by two leading economists is a far-reaching analysis of the role and organization of the financial system in the aftermath of the economic crisis. The authors argue that the financial markets, as currently organized, hinder genuine market transactions and therefore harm the economy, along with any chance of sustained recovery.Despite the crisis, the power of the financial markets has continued to grow. Far from being subjected to major restructuring or regulation, they continue to rule largely unchecked - laying down economic policies, deposing governments, disrupting social contracts and reshaping international alliances. The time has come to think through more radical proposals for reform - to save other markets from the overwhelming power of the one market that has come to dominate them all, the financial market. Through a detailed examination of specific measures - from policies aimed at reigning in financial markets to the idea of local currencies that could be used to foster economic development within localities and regions - the authors develop a set of proposals that would help to revitalize markets, free them from the domineering power of finance and re-establish the relationship between creditor and debtor that was severed by the rise of the modern financial system. Building on their very successful work The End of Finance, this new and timely book will appeal to students of economics, politics and sociology as well as to general readers interested in one of the key issues of our time.

No Peanut Butter Scent
As mentioned in about her Nerf toy review, these are pretty much the only toys we buy for our power chewer. And our boy LOVES peanut butter— pretty sure he’d jump off a cliff for a spoonful of Jif. So when I saw 1) our brand of toy, 2) in peanut butter scent, it seemed like a no-brainer. I thought he’d smell the peanut butter and tear the package open before I even got home. Much to our dismay, this one had absolutely no smell and must not taste like peanut butter either, because he has very little interest in it.

Lacks durability
Lacked durability. Clear silicone outer shell started to break off once my dog chewed it. Lasted only a day or two. Wouldn’t recommend.

Wonderful, safe chew toy
Durable but safe for dogs teeth. Our large red puppy chew on this all the time and we’ve had it for weeks.

Not durable at all but pooch loved it for a few minutes before destroying it
I don't consider my dog's super chewers. But my border collie lab mix got through this in just a few minutes. He definitely really liked the smell. Both my dogs liked the smell of this product a lot. But I need it to last longer and once you get past the softer springy outer layer, the inside is just hard plastic. So once I realized he was chewing up the hard plastic the chew toy was a goner
