The RAM-B-189-TAB12-ALA1-KRU is a complete RAM® dual suction mount for 8" tablets and the Apple iPad mini in a light-duty case, popular as an aviation EFB (electronic flight bag) setup. Works With
Sized for the iPad mini 1-4 in a light-duty case (not LifeProof) and most 8" tablets that fit the cradle dimensions below. The dual base needs a flat, smooth, non-porous surface such as glass.

FAQs
Does it fit an iPad mini in a case? Yes, the iPad mini 1-4 in a light-duty case. It is not suitable for LifeProof cases.
What does the retention knob do? It lets you loosen and re-aim the arm with the tablet still mounted, and stops the knob backing all the way off.
