Sinningia leucotricha is a unique caudex-forming perennial succulent. Having its origin in Brazil, this rounded tuber herb is commonly known as Brazilian edelweiss. It belongs to the Gesneriaceae family and is noted for having a short stem bearing silver-green paired leaves with lots of hair on them. When young, the white hair is thickly based on the leaves giving it a furry look. Between Spring to Summer, the Sinningia leucotricha plant flowers into fragrant tubular orange-red blooms. This plant grows perpendicular reaching a height of 30 cm but goes dormant in winters. It is slightly frost-hardy and prefers shaded sunlight for healthy growth.

Growth Rate
This plant is slow-growing.

Flowering
The Brazilian edelweiss blooms between spring to summer. The flowers are tubular and fragrant with a characteristic orange-red color.

Watering and Feeding
The best way of Brazilian edelweiss care is by keeping the plant misted when growing. It is a seasonal plant; hence, the foliage will die before the dormant season. At this time, keep it misted so that the tubers do not get dry and die. When young leaves start to appear, you need to water them regularly. The water should not be cold. Pro-tip for Sinningia leucotricha care is to ensure that you water the soil and not the plant.

Soil
The Sinningia leucotricha soil should be well-drained. It prefers sandy, loamy soil.

Hardiness
The hardiness zone of this succulent is 10a to 11b. It is slightly frost-hardy and tolerates a temperature range from 30° to 45° F (-1.1° to 7.2° C).

Light
Sinningia leucotricha prefers shaded sunlight. A part of the Sinningia leucotricha indoor care routine is to give them the early morning sun or late afternoon sun.

Propagation
The best propagation method is from Sinningia leucotricha seeds or cuttings of the caudex or leaves. The seed germination method is pretty easy. Simply sow them in well-drained soil and ensure enough humidity.

Don’t buy
Size: 5 in
I bought one at a store for my Rottweiler puppy, about 2 months ago, I bought one from here n about 5 minutes she had chewed the end off, they did send me another, no charge, well I received the other bone yesterday, she chewed a big split in it. Won’t buy anymore, I’m out the money, which isn’t much. Made in China also, no more. Going back to Kong toys, they do last with aggressive chewers. Don’t know why but the one I bought at the store is holding up real good.

Eh...
Size: 5 in
I had high hopes for these cause we have other spot brand toys that have last a long time. Unfortunately these just don't hold up to the test! My dogs had them broken in about 5 - 10 mins. They did smell good tho and my dogs went crazy over them before I ever got them out of the bag. Lol.

Smells too strong
Size: 5 in
My dog hates the way this thing smells. She tries to play with it, but the scent is too strong for her nose. I know it's the scent because she usually sniffs it two or three times in between trying to grab it with her mouth. She treats it like an explosive in her mouth and quickly moves away after spitting it out. She used to have a bone that looked similar to this (same material) that was unscented and she gnawed the hell out of it. My sister's pitbull spent the night and chewed that toy into bits, leaving my Yorkie mourning the loss of her once treasured bone. Please make an UNSCENTED version of this toy!!!!
