I couldn't believe he had even driven to my shop in that position. 

After nearly 3 hours of trouble shooting electronics, fighting to get access to seat bolts and finally disassembly and removal of the seat, I found the problem!  A single quarter, stuck in the track, so crushed in the power seat that in was folded in half like a taco. Clearly, my newly educated customer learned the value of a quarter that day!
