This Slingerland Vintage 1959 Gene Krupa Deluxe Radio King Ensemble is in very good condition. Purchased at an estate sale this kit comes with its black hardware case, Original Zildjian hi-hat cymbals and 18” ride. Came with hardware stands too. It had its original heads (except snare), Interiors look amazing. Stamped 1959. Mufflers look new. Original finish. Wrap and drum hardware almost look new. All original chrome over brass drum hardware. Some fading on on small section of the bass drum. Original calf-skin heads on the bass drum, and floor tom. We misplaced rack heads when cleaning the kit. Complete with the famous original matching Super Krupa SnareDrum.

This drum set is the result of a beautiful marriage between one of the most innovative drummers of all time and a well-established drum manufacturer. Gene Krupa is said to be one of the most prominent figures in modern drumming – he was the first to record with a bass drum, and among one of the first groups to play jazz in Carnegie Hall. In 1936 he singlehandedly convinced Slingerland to implement fully tunable tom-toms which are now universal. This set is the result of years of successful collaboration between Krupa and Slingerland. This kit comes with it’s matching snare drum – often times sold separately due to high demand; 
 
This kit is so sturdy and perfect to play out or in the studio. One of the best drum sets ever made. Perfect for today’s pro drummer. 
 
1950s stamped “Genuine Turkish, Made in USA” Zildjian cymbals; all of it’s original hardware; and the original Slingerland-stamped calf-skin heads on the bass drum and floor tom which contribute heavily to the Radio King signature sound.
