At an elevation of 350 meters, Chateau La Coste s limestone-clay slopes in Provence s Mediterranean region provide an exceptional foundation for their centuries-old winemaking legacy. The north-facing vineyard, certified organic since 2009 and following biodynamic principles under Demeter certification, spans 200 hectares where ancient cypresses, stone pines, and olive trees create a harmonious ecosystem that enhances the natural viticulture practiced here. This distinguished red blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Grenache, and Syrah displays an alluring cherry-red color with ruby highlights. The complex bouquet reveals layers of red and black fruits complemented by subtle forest floor notes and refined oak spice. An extensive eight-week maceration and 18-month aging in 400L barrels (30% new) yields a wine of impressive structure and richness, culminating in a prolonged finish marked by distinctive notes of blackcurrant and morello cherry. This refined wine shows particular affinity for classic French dishes like beef cheeks with Serrano ham and traditional pot-au-feu.
