Jiffy strips are an environmentally friendly alternative to plastic pots and trays. They are 100% biodegradable and are approved for organic production. Fill the Jiffy strips with substrate and they are ideal for starting seeds and rooting cuttings. Once established, the rooted plant can be transplanted, with the Jiffy pot included, directly into the ground thereby preventing any damage to the newly formed root system. The roots will simply grow through the sides and base of the Jiffy as the peat degrades. Proteas and other similar crops with sensitive root systems benefit from propagation in Jiffy pots and strips.
The pots and strips are made from peat and wood pulp, so there are limitations to their integrity when wet. They are best used in conjunction with a plastic growing tray.
The 4 cm x 5 cm is available in bundles of 5 or 100, or in cartons of 500 strips. The 6 cm x 10 cm is available in bundles of 10 or in cartons of 160 strips. The 8 cm x 8 cm is available in bundles of 3 or in cartons of 207 strips. The 5.5 cm x 15 cm is available in bundles of 10 or in cartons of 200 strips.

• Cavities - 4 cm x 4 cm square x 5 cm high; volume of 20 millilitres
6 cm x 10 cm strip:
• Strip - 36 cm long x 11 cm wide x 10 cm high; 12 cavities per strip
• Cavities - 6 cm x 6 cm square x 10 cm high; volume of 120 millilitres
8 cm x 8 cm strip:
• Strip - 24 cm long x 16 cm wide x 8 cm high; 6 cavities per strip
• Cavities - 8 cm x 8 cm square x 8 cm high; volume of 250 millilitres
5.5 cm x 15 cm strip:
• Strip - 26 cm long x 13 cm wide x 15 cm high; 8 cavities per strip
