It is the bright rosy reddish brown of Huisache heartwood with a bit of contrasting creamy sapwood. This piece is rough sawn. This piece has been air dried to 8 10% moisture content. It has one open crack, as shown, that you may want to fill with CA glue.

Very nice but...

It's a beautiful bag but the outside zipper pockets are deceiving, they're very small . My phone couldn't fit inside. No bad smell, the organization inside is good and the strap length is pefect. Because the outside zipper pockets are too small I may have to return it.
