RÉSUMÉ: 1920 : Petite ville de Virginie-Occidentale, Matewan est totalement contrôlée par la société minière qui possède à la fois les terres, les logements et les commerces, et dispose de sa main d'oeuvre par la force. Les mineurs décident de faire grève contre leurs conditions de vie inhumaines, mais on leur oppose vite une milice armée qui va faire régner la terreur.
A PROPOS DU FILM: Issu de faits réels et réalisé indépendamment en 1987, alors point d'orgue du reaganisme ultralibéral, MATEWAN est à la fois une critique acerbe de la fondation des États-Unis, mais aussi un plaidoyer sincère chargé d'humanisme pour un mieux vivre-ensemble. Entre Les Raisins de la colère et La Porte du Paradis, le film de John Sayles (Lone Star, City of Hope) propose un casting de haute volée (Chris Cooper, David Strathairn, James Earl Jones, Mary McDonnell, Will Oldham) mis en valeur par la merveilleuse photographie de Haskell Wexler, nominée aux Oscars...

Lightweight Balls

lightweight but solid. Unfortunately, I can't bring to dog park for my dog to play with as the larger dogs will destroy them. Not for dogs that chew through everything.

Too big for puppies
