Vitamin B6 is important as a coenzyme for the normal metabolism of amino acids, carbohydrates and lipids. It is also involved in healthy cognitive development, immune health and homocysteine conversion.^* The P-5-P form of B6 is directly used in B6-dependent enzyme functions in the body. In fact, vitamin B6 and P-5-P are needed for more than 100 enzyme reactions - mostly related to protein metabolism.
