Taylor's Academy Series of guitars has always been a great line for newer players or players looking for a guitar that's a little more simplified for casual playing or travel. This limited Academy 12e accomplishes quite a bit for players seeking something in that ball park. This all begins with Taylor's Grand Concert body shape assembled from a torrefied spruce top and layered figured AA-grade Hawaiian koa back and sides. Definitely a special addition to the Academy Series, these two quality tonewoods produce an overall rich and lived-in sound usually only found in higher-end Taylor models. Taylor's Academy Series bracing and a carved armrest body contour produce balanced projection and added comfort, respectively.
Enhancing the playability of this Academy even further, a slim hard rock maple neck extends out from the Grand Concert form. Another unique feature, a smoked eucalyptus fingerboard, joins with this neck to enable swift playing up and down the full scale length. Italian acrylic dot fret inlays tie these elements together. For performance in any scenario, this electronically-equipped Academy Series features Taylor's ESB electronics system for seamlessly translating its sweet acoustic voices to the stage or studio. An included Taylor tan soft gig bag travels with this guitar for smooth moves from place to place.
