De Ricasoli-wijnmakerij bevindt zich in het Chianti Classico-gebied. Het is 1200 hectare groot. Het gebied is verdeeld in glooiende heuvels, fluweelachtige valleien, dikke kastanjes en eikenbossen. Van de totale oppervlakte zijn bijna 240 hectare wijngaarden en 26 hectare olijfgaarden. Ze omringen het Castello di Brolio in de gemeente Gaiole in Chianti. Hier in het centrum van Toscane runt Baron Francesco Ricasoli sinds 1993 de wijnmakerij. Hij staat klaar om elke uitdaging aan te gaan om het land van zijn voorvaders te eren. Deze Riserva is het middelpunt van de drie kwaliteitsniveaus die door het Consorzio del Vino Chianti Classico worden bepaald. Voordat de Riserva in de uitverkoop kan, moet hij minimaal 24 maanden rijpen, waarvan minimaal 3 maanden op fles. Rocca Guicciarda stond vroeger voor de belangrijkste bezittingen van de baronnen Ricasoli. Tegenwoordig is het de naam van de Riserva di Chianti Classico. Deze wijn is een traditionele riserva. Bijzonderheden zijn de aroma's en het sublieme karakter. Tegelijkertijd is de wijn weelderig en harmonieus. De druivensoorten zijn 90 procent Sangiovese, 5 procent Merlot en 5 procent Canaiolo. In de geur een breed pallet aan indrukken van zoete kersen en pruimen maar ook echte chianti tonen zoals aards, vanille, kruiden en hout. De smaak is zo elegant niet alleen kracht, maar veel subtiliteit met mooie smaken van zwart fruit, kruiden en onder tonen van vanille, ceder hout, laurier en drop. Entertaining and helpful lessons

My family loves this book. Used to read it to my daughter as a young girl and now she’s a teen. We still talk about the lessons learned in this book! The characters and illustrations crack me up: Smash, rip and ruin taught us a lot! And the ones without hands and noses! I couldn’t believe how long ago this book was written when we got it- all lessons still applicable today.

Fun Way to Teach Manners

... over with my 3yo and 5yo boys but they loved it!

I wasn't sure how this would go over with my 3yo and 5yo boys but they loved it!! They always enjoy pulling it out and now I can refer back to the characters to remind them of their manners in a more positive way. The only thing is I kinda wish they had used a different animal than pig, since for some reason I don't like saying "don't be like the pigs" (since I don't really want them calling eachother or other kids pigs). But so far it has been fine :) It's also very nice they included "Be kind to animals, they have feelings too." We say that all the time around here since we have kitties. Also the part about table manners is great since we had already been teaching the kids to ask before being excused from the table.

Manners Can Be Fun

What a cute book! I bought it for my 2 and 3 year old boys. We are attempting to teach them simple, common manners in a fun way and they love learning through books. Manners Can Be Fun presents manners in a simple, easy to understand, engaging way. The boys enjoy reading this book and it's a great way to have positive conversations about specific situations they experience daily like sharing toys, picking up after themselves, whining, meal time. It's a fun book!

Wonderful, simple book for children of all ages
Format: Hardcover
I am 65 years old and this was one of my first books. The revisions along the way have not changed the drawings that much. It is simple, but well illustrated, and gives a basic idea of good manners. I recommend it for every child - it makes them think about behavior. The way the author demonstrates "me first" and "whinney" have stuck with me all these years.
