Deze zaken zijn op zich niet zo bijzonder, maar gecombineerd hebben we het over een uniek product waarmee Capcom zichzelf wederom profileert als bijzonder veelzijdig producent van interessante titels.

Capcom heeft gekozen voor een arcade street racer die de stijl en atmosfeer van Ridge Racer ademt, maar dan geblend met meer realisme en echt bestaande Japanse banen. Deels gaat het hier om legitieme racecircuits, deels om populaire streetrace locaties. Meest bekende en voor de hand liggende zijn Osaka's Hanshin freeway, het Suzuka circuit en een aantal banen die gesitueerd zijn in het Shinjuku stadsdeel van Tokyo.
