Het essenhouten handvat is voorzien van een antislip greep, wat zorgt voor meer comfort en minder kans op blaren. De totale lengte van het hakje is 60 cm, waarvan de steel 40 cm beslaat.
Zo gebruik je een handhakje:
In tegenstelling tot een schoffel trek je een hakje naar je toe. Steek het diep genoeg in de grond om onkruid met wortel en al te verwijderen. Gebruik het bij voorkeur in vochtige grond — die is losser, waardoor je soepeler werkt. Maak het gereedschap na gebruik schoon en droog om het in goede staat te houden.
