De 5-hoekige vorm geeft het een grotere duurzaamheid bij zeer hoge omwentelingen en tegelijkertijd scherpt het de randen (kanten) die het standaard monofilament niet heeft. Scherpe randen snijden gemakkelijker gras of zachte struiken.
