De Amarone-selecties van Fratelli Tedeschi uit San Pietro in Cariano behoren tot de top van Valpolicella. De nieuwe naam "Marne 180" zegt genoeg. "Marne" betekent "mergelgrond" waarop de wijnstokken voor deze prachtige Amarone groeien. 180 staat voor de blootstellingsgraden van de wijngaarden, van zuidwest naar zuidoost. Deze wijn is gemaakt van druiven die zijn geoogst in verschillende wijngaarden op heuvels in het Valpolicella-gebied (heuvels Mezzane en Tregnago). Verschillende bronnen en verschillende druivensoorten zijn belangrijk om een uitgebalanceerde wijn te verkrijgen met de fijne structuur die slechts enkele afzonderlijke gebieden in de Valpolicella-zone kunnen bieden.36 maanden rijping voor de Amarone Marne 180
De druiven worden eind september begin oktober geoogst, waarna ze in de fruitopslag drogen voor de duur van vier maanden bij een gecontroleerde luchtvochtigheid. Vervolgens worde de druiven zacht geperst, wat gevolgd wordt door alcoholische gisting en maceratie voor veertig tot zestig dagen. Tot slot rijpt de Amarone dertig maanden in Slavonisch eikenhouten vaten, waarna de wijn gebotteld wordt en nog zes maanden op de fles rijpt. In de geur zwoel en krachtig, kersenpitten, breed, krenten, rozijnen, vijgen en pruimen. Een mondvol wijn deze Tedeschi Amarone, met een rijke en levendige smaak, bitter en rijk, met in zijn jeugd reserve en stevigheid. Marne betekent mergel, de wijn is vernoemd naar de grondsoort en het feit dat de wijngaarden in een halve cirkel van 180 graden richting de zon staan aangeplant. More soft than firm

Not firm but more soft, would I be returning probably not but if you were already on the fence this is your confirmation that it’s not as described, ( well to my standards at least ) it does feel of good quality but I was looking more a sturdy firm that soft and cushion feeling .

Best fluffy but firm pillows

These pillows are worth every penny! They started off pretty flat but after three days they plumped up well. In addition to them being plump, they are also firm. Exactly what I was looking for. You can shake up the internal stuffing if you want them softer too. They were a bit pricey but I’m going to repurchase and replace all my home pillows with these. I do sleep hot and the cooling side is perfect to lay on. Kept me cool and comfortable. I haven’t had any neck or back pain after switching to these pillows too. Absolutely recommend these for your home. The photo shows how full the pillows are. I have four pillows in the picture plus two smaller other brands. These are definitely fluffier.

Most comfortable pillow I’ve ever slept on

This is the most comfortable pillow I have ever slept on. It doesn't mash down like other pillows. Cradles my neck perfectly plus it’s cool. I broke my neck a couple of years ago and this pillow feels very good and comfortable. Definitely recommend to everyone. Ive used it since May and it’s retained its shape.

Smell

The fact that there are not more comments on the smell of these pillows has me worried about some of yall. Listen, I LOVE the weight, and the firmness, it’s perfect for that. However, these pillows are RANK. They have a very strong mildew-ish smell that lingers. I took the outer cover off and washed it and let the pillow air out for a few days, the smell is still very strong when you press your face against it, which one does because it is in fact designed for that purpose. It smells so bad. It’s nauseating. I can smell it through two pillowcases and blanket that I threw on top of them hoping an extra layer would trap the smell. I’ll bake them in the Texas sun tomorrow and hope that helps, because otherwise these are the perfect pillows for someone who wants to feel like they are hugging a torso but can’t stand the sound/feel of someone else breathing. I don’t know…4 stars, if the smell goes away I’ll come back.
Update: many many days later. Either they don’t really smell anymore or I got use to it. They’ve held their firmness and shape well. I like them.
