Als directeur binnen de BundesAutobahn Organisation ben je verantwoordelijk voor het beheer en de ontwikkeling van het Duitse federale wegennet. Naast de aanleg van wegen ben je ook verantwoordelijk voor het vergemakkelijken van het vervoer van goederen naar de buurlanden en de aanleg van tankstations

Autobahn is een economisch strategiespel over de aanleg van het Duitse snelwegennet in drie perioden, van het einde van de Tweede Wereldoorlog tot nu. Als directeur binnen de BundesAutobahn Organisation ben je verantwoordelijk voor het beheer en de ontwikkeling van het Duitse federale wegennet. Naast de aanleg van wegen ben je ook verantwoordelijk voor het vergemakkelijken van het vervoer van goederen naar de buurlanden en de aanleg van tankstations om van dit nieuwe verkeer te profiteren. Naarmate je bijdraagt aan de ontwikkeling van het netwerk, krijg je zetels in de bestuursraden van elke snelweg, en zij verhogen je budget aan het begin van elke periode.

In de loop van het spel zullen je bestuursleden uiteindelijk doorgroeien naar meer prestigieuze zetels binnen het Bundesautobahn-gebouw, die in plaats daarvan aan het eind van het spel overwinningspunten opleveren. Plan vooruit om je efficiëntie te optimaliseren: Elke bijdrage die je levert bouwt je reputatie op en geeft je toegang tot nieuwe afdelingen en scoringsmogelijkheden die beter aansluiten bij de door jou gekozen weg naar de overwinning. Met de kaarten in je hand kun je acties ondernemen op een van de 7 belangrijkste Autobahnen. Je moet zorgvuldig plannen en je acties perfect timen als je het meeste uit je hand wilt halen voordat je je kaarten moet terughalen.
