Het is tijd voor de volgende stap in de carrière én in het leven van Aaron Blommaert. Na de recente release van zijn nieuwste single DNA waarin hij zijn vertrek uit het ouderlijke huis bezingt, komt de jonge Aalstenaar met zijn eerste en langverwachte album Oorsprong.

Oorsprong is een prachtig lappendeken van Aarons muzikale pad en de reis die hij heeft afgelegd van zanger naar artiest: ‘Ik ben ongelofelijk gegroeid als mens en als maker. Ik zong liedjes - liedjes die enorm veel voor me betekenen, die me de start hebben gegeven van iets onwerkelijks, liedjes die bij mij horen, maar nu maak ik muziek. Meer dan ooit vind ik mijn stem, mijn verhaal, samen met maar ook los van anderen.’

Loslaten is dan ook duidelijk de rode draad door Aarons eerste plaat: ‘Ik vertrek vanuit mijn oorsprong, mijn thuis, en neem mee wat ik nodig heb. En dat is veel. Maar er zijn ook dingen die ik moet achterlaten om volledig mijn eigen Aaron te worden. Anders blijf ik voor altijd een afgeleide van al die indrukken. Ik moet mijn eigen ding doen.’
