De drie belangrijkste ingrediënten om whisky te maken zijn: gist, gerst en... water
Dat laatste deel is zeker niet het minst belangrijk, daarom gebruiken de meeste distilleerderijen in Schotland hun eigen waterbron.
Experts raden de toevoeging van water in uw glas whisky aan om het pallet van geuren en smaken te openen.
Om het ware karakter van de whisky te behouden, wordt aangegeven
hetzelfde water te gebruiken als bij het distillatieproces.
Voor Dewar’s whisky is de zogenoemde ‘Pitilie Burn’ dé bron van water, gelegen direct naast de Aberfeldy distilleerderij waar Dewar’s wordt gemaakt.
