Wijn en gerecht : Heerlijk bij exotische pikante gerechten o.a. Chinees, Thai, scampi's met currysaus, wit vlees met een pittige afwerking. Ook bij halfharde kazen perfect.

De wijn en het wijnhuis : een druif die men totaal niet verwacht in deze regio. Toch staat deze druif hier opperbest ! Wat hoger op de bergen en dus veel koeler dan in de vallei. Meestal is Gewurtztraminer zoet maar deze wijn heeft een zoete aanzet maar eindigt volledig droog. Deze wijn behoort tot de topwijnen van Pares Balta en is gemaakt met een heel laag rendement.

Serveertip : de wijn heeft een zalvende textuur met een uitstekende zuurgraad die na verloop van tijd levendigheid zal geven. Lange en aanhoudende afdronk die citrusaroma's achterlaat.

Temperatuur : 8°C à 10°C

Biologische landbouw

In Parés Baltà cultiveren we de wijngaarden op een ecologische manier zonder herbiciden, pesticiden en kunstmest. Om onze grond te bemesten, hebben we onze eigen kudde schapen die de maanden na de oogst voor de wijngaarden zorgt.

We hebben ook bijen die de wijnstokken tijdens de bloeiperiode bestuiven.
Bij ecologische landbouw is het cruciaal om de planten op het juiste moment te behandelen. We doen bijvoorbeeld aan groen snoeien bij rassen die gevoeliger zijn voor ziekten. Zo verhogen we de luchtcirculatie en de blootstelling aan de zon.

Bovendien doen we aan groene oogst door een deel van de druiven af te snijden voordat ze rijpen. Het belangrijkste doel is om de concentratie en het karakter van de druiven die op de wijnstokken zijn achtergebleven, te vergroten.

Sommige van onze wijngaarden worden verbouwd op eeuwenoude terrassen. Ze waren bijna verlaten vanwege hun hoge onderhoudskosten, maar we besloten ze opnieuw te gebruiken. Ze zijn volledig geïsoleerd en omgeven door de natuur en onze wijngaarden volgen de orografie van de bergen. Wilde dieren zoals wilde zwijnen, vossen, konijnen en adelaars worden vaak gezien. 

Geen kunstmatige irrigatie. Het enige water dat de wijnstokken ontvangen, komt rechtstreeks uit de regen.

Once I learned while shoe shopping in my youth that I needed wide-sized shoes, I wasn't able to easily choose from any shoes I saw in the store. I usually have to go find the wide widths and have to deal with the limited styles they have. Shopping online has been hit and miss, too. Sometimes, shoes are advertised as wide width, but end up still being too narrow. These shoes fit me just right. They were not too tight at the toes, gave good width at the arch, and the opening was large enough that I didn't have to undo every single lace just to get my foot in. They also look nice, and I'm sure will take a decent polish. Also, note that this does say it's an Oxford shoe, but it does have the open lacing and is more of a derby-style shoe. This also helps with sizing for my wide feet. If I didn't already have a pair of black shoes, I'd look at picking one of these up. My only reservation with these is that the soles are not dark-colored to complement a more formal style. I feel the white makes them a little more casual. The sole is also more transparent/opaque coloring at the heel and underneath, which you can kind of see-through, so keep that in mind. It's not fully clear, but is kind of transparent, which I was not expecting. I think it also shows where it picks up dirt as you wear it. Just more of a style cue one way or another. As a reference, I buy the 4E wide and Extra Wides in New Balance and Skechers. I also have a hard time getting any good fit in Nike shoes.
