How to know when to replace the pheromone sticky trap?

It's recommended to write the date of when you set the pheromone sticky trap. That way you can keep an eye on it and when 3 months are up, replace the trap. Then write in the new date, or put a sticky label over it. If you replace the trap carefully you can keep using the original box indefinitely.

How to replace the pheromone sticky trap without getting into a mucky mess

The title of the product is a clue as to what it might be like to handle: sticky. (No, you can't smell anything unless you're a male common clothes moth!). There's a bit around the edge that isn't sticky. And a single strip of regular stickiness that sticks the refill card to the inside of the box. Carefully grip the old sticky trap around the edges, and peel it away from the box. Admire all the dead moths stuck on it then chuck it in the bin. Then peel the backing paper off the new pheromone sticky trap card and carefully insert it into the box. The back is pretty sticky so if you just lay it into position it should stick without having to press it down or anything.

What if the pheromone sticky trap sticks to the front of the box by mistake?

This can happen as the trap is a sticky piece of kit. The main thing is not to panic. It will still work. There is just less of it for the moth to stick to. If you're very careful you can gently push it away from the front of the trap. I do recommend you wear gloves if you try this though.

Do all moths eat clothes?

No way! There are thousands of species of moth and only three of these eat woollen garments in the UK. Clothes moths are actually very useful out in the wild as they eat owl pellets, old nests and other things that would take a lot longer to biodegrade if the moth larvae didn’t help. The pheromone trap only attracts clothes moths, so it gives an indication of whether the moths you see in the home are in fact clothes moths or other species. If the trap isn't attracting them then they're not guilty. Just make sure you place the trap somewhere away from any moth deterrents you have in the home as this will give Mr Moth cognitive dissonance if he detects both together. He will scent the irresistible lure of a female moth wanting to mate, coupled with the revolting stink of lavender and be at a complete loss as to which direction to fly in.

many feelings
Format: Kindle
I didn’t know what this book was about when I first started reading.. one thing I felt at the beginning was…amazement? I love writing letters, something I don’t do often, I recently bought this beautiful fountain pen, I wanted to start small, writing greeting cards to family and friends, birthday cards, thank yous, etc. what I didn’t expect is the emotional toll this book had on me, and other members of my family who read the book for our book club. The subject matters, death of a child, husband dying of cancer, the significance of May 29th, all impacted our family, and so, as I read this book, I had to put it down several times because I had to cry, compose myself, think of regrets I have, and remember. How amazing it is that Sybil was able to write all about the death of her child to her dead child. I always say that writing it down on paper releases your burden in your head…it is true, I think writing letters, even the ones she didn’t send helped her quiet her head, at least for a while. I truly love this book. I have been borrowing books from Libby to read for our book club for a very long time, there have been books that I fell in love with, and always thought if I want to read them again I’ll just borrow them again, this book is the first one that I want to own physically to put on my shelf and know that I have it to read over and over again when I want to reflect and then quiet my head. ( This is the longest review I’ve written about a book I’ve read, I hope it makes sense).
