Straight-up sleep powder with a 1.8g phenibut base

Blackstone Labs Anesthetized is a no-nonsense sleep powder that comes on strong and fast, not some chill bedtime sipper. The idea here is simple: pack in a ton of calming aminos with a heavy-hitter for your nervous system, then add some plant-based and brain chemical boosters. Basically, it's for when you need your body to chill out hard. It's straightforward, and that's a good thing.

The star is 4-amino-3-phenylbutyric acid at 1.8g, or phenibut as most call it. This guy's the main driver. Phenibut works mostly on GABA-B receptors – those are spots in your brain that help calm things down – and it gives a way stronger chill and anti-stress feel than your usual amino sleep helpers. You'll notice that 'lights out' heaviness from this. But heads up: it's not your everyday chill pill, and using it a lot can build tolerance, make you dependent, or cause side effects. So, use Anesthetized smart, not all the time.

GABA comes in at 3g, which is huge compared to most sleep stuff. People debate if oral GABA really gets to your brain because of the blood-brain barrier – that's the filter keeping stuff out – but at this big dose, lots of folks feel a real calm kick, probably from how it works outside the brain or personal differences. Either way, it's not just for show; it's a serious amount to amp up the relax mode.

L-Taurine is solid here at 2.2g. That's right in the sweet spot of 1-3g from studies. Taurine helps with brain signaling, keeping cells balanced, handling calcium, and stabilizing membranes. For sleep, it's great at settling an over revved system. Thi

BSL Anesthetized by Blackstone Labs contains 3g Gamma-Aminobutyric acid, a clinical dose for muscle recovery and growth.

Key Highlights

  • 1,800mg 4-amino-3-phenylbutyric acid – this is what makes Anesthetized feel so potent. It hits GABA-B spots in your brain for a deep calm and stress relief that's way heavier than basic amino sleep aids.
  • 3,000mg GABA – that's a massive dose for sleep supps. There's talk about how well it crosses into the brain, but at this level, it's no joke; it's there to crank up the chill and quiet things down.
  • 2,200mg taurine – spot-on dosing in the 1,000-3,000mg range from research. It helps with brain signals, calcium flow, and keeping cells steady, so it calms you without leaning only on one big sedative.
  • 500mg N-Acetyl-L-Tyrosine – this acts as a building block for brain chemicals. It's not as direct as plain L-tyrosine for boosting levels, but 500mg is solid and shows they're thinking about overall brain balance, not just knocking you out.
  • 250mg valerian root extract – an old-school herb for sleep. It fits right in with the GABA vibe and adds that classic herbal chill to make the whole thing feel rounded.
  • 100mg mucuna pruriens with 98% L-Dopa – kinda unique for sleep stuff, aiming at mood and dopamine levels – dopamine's a feel-good brain chemical. It's not the sleeper here, but it adds some brain depth beyond a plain bedtime mix.
  • No hidden blends – everything's listed with exact doses. In a world of mystery 'sleep complexes,' this lets you see what's really in it and why it hits like it does.
  • Comes as an 11g scoop powder – easy if you hate popping tons of pills at night. Plus, pros can half it to check tolerance first.

Who Is This For?

  • Seasoned lifters hitting the gym late who crash physically but stay wired mentally. 1.8g phenibut, 3g GABA, and 2.2g taurine tackle that better than plain magnesium sleepers.
  • Shift folks or stressed workers needing a hard off button after weird hours or rough days. This isn't light support; it's for when you need heavy chill now and then.
  • Bodybuilders in hard prep with sleep wrecked by stress, low food, late sessions, or stim overload. Taurine and valerian calm, phenibut forces shutdown.
  • People who've tried mild stuff like melatonin, magnesium, lemon balm, or low GABA and it didn't cut it. Anesthetized steps up big time with more force.
  • Supp pros who check labels hard and want full disclosure. No blends here – you see exact GABA, taurine, phenibut, NALT, valerian, and mucuna per scoop.
  • Adults with leftover buzz from pres or workdays needing to quiet nerves. High taurine and GABA help, phenibut brings the real shift.

How to Use

Go easy at first. Mix half a scoop in 8-12 oz water 30-45 minutes pre-bed, since 1.8g phenibut and 3g GABA make it way stronger than average. If that's good and you want more, go full scoop. Shaker helps mix it even, and cold water tastes better for night powders. Keep away from booze and don't stack with other chill supps or meds. Empty stomach might speed it up, big meal could slow. Not for daily forever; it's best occasional due to tolerance risks. If late caffeine's your issue, sort that before leaning on this. Store sealed in cool, dry spot to keep it from clumping.

What to Expect

First 0-15 minutes: mix your scoop and settle in a calm spot; usually no big rush, just getting ready. 15-45 minutes: that's when it kicks in, mental hype drops, and a heavier calm builds. At peak, the 1.8g phenibut with 3g GABA and 2.2g taurine shines; staying up feels pointless. Overnight, it's about steady chill, not a stim crash. First time, watch for how you feel next day – that's why test tolerance. Days 1-7: no buildup bonus here. Weeks 2-4: watch for less punch from overuse, so keep it occasional, not nightly.

Frequently Asked Questions

What makes Blackstone Labs Anesthetized different from a typical sleep aid?

The difference is the backbone: 1,800mg of 4-amino-3-phenylbutyric acid, commonly known as phenibut. Most sleep aids rely on magnesium, melatonin, or low-dose botanicals; Anesthetized is built around a much stronger sedative-style mechanism, then reinforced with 3g GABA, 2.2g taurine, valerian, NALT, and mucuna.

How strong is the phenibut dose in Anesthetized?

At 1.8g per scoop, phenibut is the dominant active and the main reason this formula feels so heavy. This is not a casual bedtime amount and should be respected as the defining feature of the product.

Is the 2,200mg taurine dose meaningful?

Yes. Taurine's commonly supported clinical range is about 1,000-3,000mg, so 2.2g is a solid dose. In this formula it helps calm an overstimulated system and adds a more evidence-backed neuromodulatory layer to the overall sedative effect.

Does Anesthetized contain melatonin?

No verified melatonin is present in the disclosed active formula. The sleep effect here is driven primarily by phenibut, GABA, taurine, and valerian rather than a melatonin-based approach.

Should beginners start with a full scoop?

No. A half scoop is the smarter first trial because this formula is unusually aggressive for the category. Assess both nighttime effect and next-morning carryover before considering the full serving.

Can I take Anesthetized every night?

That is not the best use case. Because the formula centers on phenibut, frequent nightly use raises concerns about tolerance and dependence. It is better approached as an occasional heavy-duty sleep tool.

Why is N-Acetyl-L-Tyrosine included in a sleep product?

NALT is a catecholamine precursor and is more commonly seen in stress or focus formulas, so it is not a conventional sleep ingredient. In Anesthetized, it likely plays a balancing role around neurotransmitter tone rather than serving as the core sleep driver.

What does the 100mg mucuna pruriens actually provide?

The mucuna extract is standardized to 98% L-Dopa, making it a dopaminergic support ingredient. It is not the main sedative in the formula, but it adds a distinct neurotransmitter-focused dimension that sets this apart from simpler bedtime blends.

Can I stack Anesthetized with alcohol or other sleep aids?

No. Combining phenibut, GABA, taurine, and valerian with alcohol, prescription sedatives, or other strong sleep aids increases the risk of excessive CNS depression and poor next-day function.

Is this formula fully disclosed?

Yes. One of the product's real strengths is label transparency: no proprietary blend, and each active ingredient is listed with its exact dose. That is especially valuable in the sleep category where hidden blends are still common.

Fallen Angels, fae, vampires, oh my!
Format: Kindle
Rating: 4.5 | Spice: 2 (but a good slow-burn) • Main Characters: Huntyr and Wolf • I couldn’t wait to read this book; there was so much hype about it! And there was no doubt why. I fell in love with the characters and the plot itself. This book is mainly plot driven more than friction driven but it’s easy to follow along with. The characters are fun, easily understood. The main setting is at an academy where both the main characters are going through trials and building strength for the final test, The Transcendent. There are fantastic side characters as well. I loved the camaraderie between Huntyr and her friends. But we don’t like Lanson. 😆 We do have some plot twists that come into play throughout the book. Secrets and betrayal to be seen. I did adore Wolf and Huntyr’s relationship. It was a classic slow burn trope. They didn’t hit it off fast, but in time their feelings grew. I loved their banter, so sexy. Wolf is your next book boyfriend; Huntyr is your next vampire assassin independent bad-a*s female. Themes include loyalty, trust, self-discovery, a true slow burn romance. Side note: book ends on a angsty cliffhanger! • Emily, thank you for writing this awesome novel and I cannot wait to devour Book 2, Blood So Brutal! 😍 • Happy reading, my lovelies! xo

“My heart bows to you and you only, Huntress.”
Format: Kindle
3.5 🌟 This book popped up in my KU recommended reading suggestions and the synopsis sounded like what I was in the mood for. I'm so glad I took a chance on it. I went into this knowing absolutely nothing about it and ended up really liking it. I love when this happens. The main characters are likeable and I easily found myself rooting for them. There is a mystery element to each of their backstories that I enjoyed watching unfold and can't wait to get more of. Wolf, in particular, has me fixated. Love him. I found this to be an entertaining, addictive read with a plot that moves along at a good pace. It reads so easily I found myself very reluctant to put it down. Lots of twists and turns and the angst is there. A good set up for the next book to come, for sure. My issues with this book....the dialogue feels a bit juvenile at times and there is a repetitive over use of a particular word phrasing that I found myself giving the ole eye-roll to. There are, without a doubt, some pretty cliche moments that gave me a bit of the cringe. I think this could've certainly 100% benefited from more depth regarding the world building. Perhaps the world building was sacrificed to keep the pacing quick? Just a guess. Also, the lack of consistency of character for the FMC was really evident and so she feels quite illogical at times. Overall, this was a fun and enjoyable read that hit the spot well enough for me. That ending certainly has me impatiently pining for book 2!

Interesting take on the genre
Format: Kindle
True rating: 3.25 ⭐️ I enjoyed the fresh take on the genre. The best way I could describe the setting and world is an apocalyptic dystopian version of Farie where vampires, fae, and angles struggle to survive in what is left of the world. It was definitely interesting throwing the academy/hunger games aspect into this world as well. Even though I guessed the final reveal early on in the book, I kept hoping I was wrong, and it would take a surprising turn. While the "plot twists" were a bit predictable to me, I still enjoyed the ride this book took me on. Another downfall for me was the plot holes in the world building... I.E. if society has fallen and the world is in the aftermath of war, how are there trains running around the world? Just to take young adults to the trials to get into the golden city? How is the train maintained, the tracks clear, etc? However, I did enjoy the FMC & MMC and thought they were fleshed out nicely. I also enjoyed the side characters but wish some were developed more like Ashalin (sp?). I do find myself rooting for the MCs to succeed and find happiness together, which is obviously an important aspect for romantasy. Overall, was this an earth-shattering, mind-bending, terrific piece of literature? No. But was it the worst thing I've read this year? Also, no. This book has, to me, the bones of a great read & just needs a bit more to push it from an alright book to a great book. Overall ratings: Plot- 3.5⭐️ World building 3⭐️ Spice 2.5 🌶🌶 Main characters 4 ⭐️ Supporting characters 3.5⭐️

great book
Format: Kindle
I am really excited to meet the author at the book retreat this month. I really enjoyed this world that she built and most of the female main character Huntress is so awesome. She goes through a lot in this book and the ending; wow! I wouldn't have even guessed. I highly recommend everyone to read this book. I have been so lucky this year that almost all the books I have read have been, so far, 5 out 5 stars.

Fallen for the Fallen Angel – A Guilty Pleasure Worth Every Page
Format: Kindle
There’s something deeply irresistible about a dark academia or trial-based setting, a brooding and arrogant fallen angel, and a fierce heroine with enough sass to go toe-to-toe with him. Wings So Wicked is exactly that kind of book—and I devoured it in just a couple of days. To be fair, the plot isn’t groundbreaking. If you’re looking for something fresh and innovative in terms of storyline, this might not be it. But if your reader heart beats faster at the mere mention of enemies-to-lovers, jealousy-fueled banter, magical trials, betrayals, and forbidden tension—you’ll feel right at home. It’s like catnip for those of us with this particular weakness. The chemistry between the leads could have used a slightly slower burn to make the tension sizzle longer, but I still found myself completely invested in their dynamic. There are moments and phrases that feel a bit cheesy or underdeveloped, but honestly? I didn’t care. The vibes were exactly what I wanted. This book isn’t trying to reinvent the genre—it’s here to give readers like me what we crave: high-stakes magical drama, angsty romance, and the thrill of watching a badass girl and her brooding counterpart clash and spark. If that sounds like your kind of story, Wings So Wicked will hit the mark. Here’s hoping Book 2 turns up the heat and keeps the magic alive.
