Light: Alocasia longiloba ‘Purple’ prefers bright, indirect light to keep its colours vibrant and growth strong. It can tolerate some gentle morning sun, but harsh direct sunlight may scorch the leaves. Too little light can slow growth and dull its striking contrast, so a well-lit room is ideal.
Water: Keep the soil lightly moist, but never waterlogged. Allow the top few centimetres of soil to dry out between waterings, then water thoroughly. Alocasias are sensitive to overwatering, especially in cooler months, so reduce watering in winter. Good drainage is essential to prevent root rot.
