Paperback
A coming-of-age comedy. A telenovela-worthy drama. A moving family saga. All in a phone call you won’t want to hang up on.
“Yes, hi, Mari. It’s me. I’m over my tantrum now and calling you back . . . But first—you have to promise that you won’t tell Mom or Abue any of this. Okay? They’ll set the house on fire if they find out . . .”
Luciana is the baby of her large Colombian American family. And despite usually being relegated to the sidelines, she now finds herself the voice of reason in the middle of their unexpected crisis. Her older sister, Mari, is away at college and reduced to a mere listening ear on the other end of their many phone calls, so when South Florida residents are ordered to evacuate before a hurricane, it’s up to Luciana to deal with her eccentric grandmother, Abue, who’s refusing to leave. But the storm isn’t the only danger. Abue, normally glamorous and full of life, is given a crushing medical diagnosis. While she’d prefer to ignore it and focus on upholding her reputation and her looks instead, the news sets Abue on her own personal journey, with Luciana reluctantly along for the ride.
When Abue moves into Luciana’s bedroom, their complicated bond only intensifies. Luciana would rather be skating or sneaking out to meet girls, but Abue’s wild demands and unpredictable antics are a welcome distraction from Luciana’s misguided mother, absent sister, and uncertain future. Forced to step into the role of caretaker, translator, and keeper of the devastating secrets that Abue begins to share, Luciana suddenly finds herself center stage, facing down adulthood—and rising to the occasion.
As Luciana chronicles the events of her upended senior year over the phone, Oye feels like the most entertaining conversation you’ve ever eavesdropped on: a rollicking, heartfelt, and utterly unique novel by an author as original as she is insightful.

Great quality for the price!
Color: Glistening Bronze
This body shimmer oil gives a really nice sun-kissed glow without looking overly glittery. The shimmer is subtle and smooth, so it catches the light in a flattering way instead of looking chunky or artificial. It works especially well on areas like the shoulders, collarbones, and legs for that summer glow effect.
The texture is lightweight and absorbs nicely into the skin. It doesn’t feel greasy, and it leaves the skin feeling soft and moisturized after applying. The bronze shade adds a warm tone that enhances natural skin color while still looking natural.
It’s also pretty versatile. You can use it on its own for a glowing finish or mix a small amount with foundation, lotion, or sunscreen to add a bit of radiance. It blends easily and spreads evenly, so a little goes a long way. The result is smooth, hydrated skin with a subtle luminous shine that looks great in sunlight.

Glowy but not sure about the spf
Color: Glistening Bronze
My first impression was that this works more like a basic body shimmer than anything else. The Glistening Bronze shade gives a noticeable glow, especially on arms and shoulders. It spreads easily and adds a warm shimmer in the light, but the overall effect feels pretty simple and more cosmetic than skincare focused.
In use, the oil blends in smoothly and feels lightweight on the skin. It does leave a bit of moisture behind, similar to a light body oil, and the shimmer shows up well outdoors. The bronze tone is fairly deep, so it seems better suited for medium to darker skin tones or anyone who wants a stronger bronzed glow. The product mentions SPF 45, but there is very little information about the sun protection side of it, so I personally treat this more like a shimmer oil than a sunscreen.
Overall, this is fine if you are mainly looking for a body shimmer that adds glow and a bronzed look. It does the job of giving skin a subtle shine and a bit of hydration, but it does not stand out as anything particularly special. I would recommend it mostly for people who want a simple shimmering body oil rather than relying on it for sun protection.

Glamorize your sunny day outing with this shimmer suntan protection
Color: Glistening Bronze, Color: Glistening Bronze
This body shimmer oil has a natural glow luminizer in it. It has an SPF of 45 for sun protection factor. This went on smoothly and easily and was light and did not feel greasy. It felt like fancy suntan lotion like no other I've ever tried before. This just adds a little glamor to your sunny day outing

Glowy, Lightweight Summer Shine
Color: Glistening Bronze, Color: Glistening Bronze
This gives a really pretty sun-kissed glow without feeling greasy or heavy on the skin. The shimmer is noticeable but not over-the-top, and it blends nicely for a smooth, radiant finish. I also like that it has SPF, which makes it perfect for everyday summer use.
