Charles took over his father's vineyards in 2008, converted the vineyards to organic and works as naturally as possible. Charles now focuses on two labels- Bulles de Comptoir and BISTROTAGE, an ode to his mother and her vineyards.
Often referred to as the ‘Selosse of the Aube’, Charles is a boundary pushing vigneron who favours Pinot Blanc in his blends and an oxidative style. His wines are a true reflection of their maker-quirky, bright, and always up for a party!
100% Pinot Noir sourced from three lieu-dits of his mother's vineyards (Francoise Martinot). Almost entirely the 2020 vintage with a tiny amount of reserve wine added. Fermentation and aging for 12 months in old oak barrels and foudres. 40 months in bottle on fine lees. Very much to Charles' style of oxidative over reductive. Extra Brut. No SO2 added.
