The Pirelli Cinturato Gravel RC is a racing-specific tire designed for high-speed gravel events like Unbound or the UCI Gravel World Series. It bridges the gap between a fast-rolling road tire and a grippy mountain bike tire, drawing heavy inspiration from Pirelli's Scorpion XC RC cross-country tread.
Key Design Features
Tread Pattern: It features a "semi-slick" center with low-profile, tightly packed knobs for minimal rolling resistance on straightaways and asphalt. The shoulder knobs are significantly taller and more aggressive, providing "bite" for high-speed cornering on loose surfaces.
SpeedGRIP Compound: A gravel-specific rubber formulation derived from Pirelli's World Rally Championship experience. It is designed to balance mechanical grip (off-road) with chemical grip (on wet asphalt) while maintaining high energy efficiency.
TechWALL Gravel Construction: To handle the high speeds of racing, the RC uses a reinforced 60 TPI nylon casing with a bead-to-bead protective layer. This makes it more resistant to sidewall cuts and punctures compared to the lighter "H" (Hardpack) or "M" (Mixed) models
