"What flower is that? Ochid? Hibiscus? A floral that keeps you guessing. How far can you abstract a floral before it falls apart? The film “Blue Hawaii” came out in 1961. It was a golden era for Aloha shirts. 1961 was developed from those vintage prints. Ours is an illustration of an illustration. A cousin twice removed." - Tsia Carson, the artist
Printed on EcoVero rayon, this gives you the swoosh-factor of rayon but was produced more sustainably than traditional rayon. EcoVero rayon used less than half the water than traditional rayon production and the wood pulp comes from sustainably managed forests. "Challis" means the fabric is lightweight, soft, and smooth. It has a slight sheen like silk. I love rayon challis for a drapey dress but you can also make swishy / comfy pants or a dreamy skirt or blouse.
Emily of @hethosews sewed a stunning self drafted dress! She writes "This stunning rayon challis has a really beautiful drape and a slight sheen, which makes it feel much fancier than other rayons in my collection."
