The story transitions as the sunflower grows showing that Aster is now a grown up with her own husband and daughter. Grown Aster is telling her daughter Emmy the story of the sunflower seed which then helps Aster tell Emmy she is going to be a big sister. The story comes full circle with Aster watching Emmy plant a sunflower seed for herself and her baby brother. Not only does the seed represent new life, it also represents patience, but most of all it it's a visual representation of the seeds that God plants in our hearts
