Art Deco has been called a pastiche of various influences from a combination of diverse sources expressed through the styling and design of the exterior and interior of anything from large structures to small objects. It flourished in the United States and Europe during the 1920s to early 1930s, but in its time, was tagged with other names, like style moderne, Moderne or style contemporain. SoCal Land-marks featured Art Deco landmarks in its online posts on each day in October 2023 as a visual sampling of the architectural and decorative expressions of the period.
