Chief Red Cloud, also known as Mahpiya Luta, was a revered leader of the Oglala Lakota Sioux tribe.

Born in 1822 in what is now North Platte River Valley in Wyoming, Red Cloud’s early life was marked by hardship, and conflict. He grew up in a time of great tension between the Lakota and the United States government, as settlers encroached on Lakota land and resources.

Despite the challenges that he faced, Red Cloud quickly distinguished himself as a natural leader and skilled warrior. He participated in several battles against the U.S. military, including the Fetterman Massacre in 1866, where he led a coalition of Lakota, Cheyenne, and Arapaho warriors in a surprise attack on a U.S. Army unit.

Red Cloud’s tactical prowess and bravery in battle earned him the respect of his people and the nickname “Red Cloud of the Morning.”

As Red Cloud grew older, he began to focus more on diplomacy and negotiation as a means of protecting his people. He played a key role in the negotiations that led to the Treaty of Fort Laramie in 1868, which granted the Lakota control of the Black Hills and other lands in what is now South Dakota, Wyoming, and Nebraska.

Although the treaty was ultimately broken by the U.S. Government, Red Cloud remained a powerful symbol of Lakota resistance and sovereignty. Today, Chief Red Cloud is remembered as a heroic figure in Lakota history, a leader who fought tirelessly to protect his people and their way of life.

Inspired by his enduring legacy, we have crafted a fragrance as an homage that captures the spirit of Red Cloud’s strength, courage, and resilience, as well as the Lakota people.

This is a tribute to the beauty and wisdom of Native American traditions, and a way to honour the deep connection between indigenous peoples and the natural world.

Tobacco is at the forefront in this composition. It was an important crop for many Native American communities. Five different varieties of rich tobacco absolutes were used to create this fragrance.

‘The Long Red Cloud’ opens with top notes of sweet, slightly fruity tobacco leaves, reminiscent of the plant’s fresh greenery.

The heart features rich and smoky, woody notes of cured tobacco leaves, evoking the warmth of a campfire. Its heart beats on with warm, woody notes of cedar which has long been used in Native American ceremonies and as an important building material. Sage evokes the natural beauty of the American Southwest.

The warmth of the base is accentuated with hints of aged whiskey and bourbon. Smoky and earthy notes of oud and patchouli ground the base, intertwined with spicy accents.

Leather and vetiver provide the regality to the composition, resulting in a complex and alluring array of base notes, encapsulating the nobility of Chief Red Cloud.

A familiar story, just with…..less.
Format: Kindle
So, as other reviewers make clear, this is very similar to Pack Darling and The Beta. It’s much closer aligned with The Beta, in plot and maybe more like Pack Darling with characters. That being said, I don’t hate this…..but it wasn’t great either. It’s both books mentioned but just….less. Less angst, less emotion, less feeling. The plot feels very half fleshed out, and the “bad guy” feels underwhelming. I didn’t really feel any real emotions from and of the male leads, except maybe Oliver. The others fell sorta flat for me. And Mika makes herself out to be this big bad ass straight outta training and then we never see it from here again with the one fitting room incident as the exception. SPOILER: The whole, “Oh, I’m actually probably an Omega, but I don’t wanna be but I do actually wanna be but no one can ever know my secret that I do nothing to hide “ thing fell so flat. She never commutes to believing she was secretly an omega, but also mentions her “secret” a lot. It just felt so manufactured. I’m intrigued enough to read part 2 and see how the author closes everything out, but this is not one I’ll recommend or ever come back to.

Fun with a late blooming omega
Format: Kindle
I like this book. The story is fun, cute, and sexy. There's just a little drama, some excellent, steamy scenes, and a fairly good relationship building storyline. I especially like how all the main characters are a bit older than the usual 20 somethings I tend to see in this kind of book. Having said that, I wish there were more descriptions of the places, as well as the food in the fancy restaurant. I enjoyed the cocktails at the club, so I missed that kind of detail when Gray took Madison on a dinner date. I also wish there had been more interaction between Lucas and Madison, and Lucas and Rian. It felt a bit lopsided, with a focus on Rian, Madison, and Gray. I wish it had been proofread - there are a lot of typos, but nothing too distracting.

Madison Deserved Better
Format: Kindle
Madison was a beta...except she wasn't any longer. She was a late presenting Omega. And she was struggling. She was tall and thin, not tiny and curvy. She was opinionated. She was everything an Omega was not. After suffering through her first heat, her friends took her to Ardor, a club where Omegas came to safely find Alphas. She's not expecting much but then she connects with a sexy beta. And when she meets his Alphas, they set her body on fire. Maybe, she's found her no-strings-attached heat pack. Maybe, she's found something more. I could not connect with the characters in this book, so their story never resonated with me. And there was no love story; there was sex. Grey made it clear from the beginning that he had a true love and it was his beta boy, Rian. He went so far as to reassure Rian “Say the word, I’ll never touch her again. Lucas can put the babies in her. I only need you, beta boy”. So, Madison was there for babies, no emotions needed. Nice. No, thank you. I want the Omega to be the center of their world, not an incubator. Lucas and Rian weren't any better. After her heat, they let her leave. Not one of them made her feel valued. No one gave her a reason to stay or even offered a cuddle. And the sex didn't even come across as mind-blowing. Madison deserved better.
