Notes
On September 6, 1995, Velut Luna was founded, an independent record label that from its very inception established the enhancement of young talents, supported by the professionalism and example of great masters, as the cornerstone and driving force of its activity, in the production of music of high artistic profile, yet without "border" limitations. Velut Luna has always produced great music across the board, ranging from the most traditional classical music to jazz, singer-songwriter music, and "crossover": this last very peculiar and elusive "genre," among the over 260 titles produced, perhaps plays the most important role, in the frantic search for the New, never separated, however, from Beauty, without ever giving up an aesthetic research always aimed at content.
Marco Lincetto, founder of Velut Luna - music producer, art director, and photographer - literally always, while proudly linked to his cultural identity as an Italian, has developed and cultivated a deep love for the United States of America, fully identifying with the great civil values of the largest and oldest democracy on the planet, learning to love the vast horizons of the USA and its citizens, during long and constant trips that since 1987, he has methodically undertaken in the USA, visiting over 40 states, both simply for the love of the Great Country and its "way of life," and for work. Marco Lincetto can now count many American citizens as his dearest friends, with whom he has had the good fortune to collaborate first professionally and then, indeed, to also develop a sincere feeling of friendship.
Thus, it immediately seemed natural and immediate to identify this project as the ideal celebration of twenty years of activity in the field of Music.
This is a far-reaching album, which combines the enhancement of the best young talents, under the aegis of established and well-known artists in the solo roles, with an ideal twinning between two great countries such as the USA and Italy. It is an authentic themed project, a concept, rigorously structured, articulated in the choice of 5 great American popular songs and 5 great Italian popular songs, interpreted respectively by a great American singer and a great Italian singer, accompanied by a great symphony orchestra of extraordinary young musicians. To complete the program, two instrumental symphonic pieces - an ideal American Overture and an Italian Intermezzo - and a final bonus, in which the two singers perform a duet together on one of the most famous Italian songs of all time: Italian, but also made a little "American" by a part of the text in English.
