When Zen Buddhism crossed from China to Japan in the twelfth century, it entered a phase of development that was not only to inspire a magnificent range of artistic achievement but also to exert a tremendous influence upon Japanese life itself and, eventually, to bring to the attention of the West a religious philosophy both unique and challenging in its power. The purpose of this anthology is to suggest an approach to answering the perennial question "What is Zen?." The texts translated here will give a general idea of Zen theory and practice, and are significant elements within the corpus of Zen literature. Additionally, Leggett has added a valuable 'Note on the Ways', in which he points out how 'the student keeps his Zen practice in touch with his daily life'. The author's inimitable strength lies in his ability to render Japanese Zen thought accessible to a wide readership through his translations and interpretations. Leggett's anthology and commentary is an invaluable introduction to Zen for general readers.Binding Type: Paperback

Only holds towels in place when it is full or 1/2 full
Color: 01-silver
If you are buying this for the feature of holding the paper towels in place so you can just rip one, I think you will be disappointed. Once the roll becomes smaller (and I tried changing the arm) the arm does not touch the towels. I do like the firm grip on the counter. My other dissatisfaction is the base gets water spots. Being near the sink this happens frequently. It does its job and is attractive.

Stylish
Color: 01-silver
Good sturdy stand for paper towels. Has small suction cups on bottom for stability. Good finish and good fit under the counter. Heavy base and not flimsy feeling. Brushed aluminum matched other appliances well.

Good quality, if you keep them oiled last a long time
If you keep these oiled and do not soak them, these boards last a long time. Good variety of sizes, durable (I use the larger 2 daily), and again, if you keep them oiled, easy to wipe down and haven't shown a sign of splitting. Durable as well. Would buy again.
