This stimulating, illuminating, and thoughtfully presented work explores the early stages of this scientific revolution, beginning with the rediscovery of Greek ideas in the mid-15th century and culminating with Galileo's brilliant Dialogue on the Two Chief Systems of the World in 1630.Noted historian of science Marie Boas Hall first gives a general account of scientific thought in the mid-1400s, then examines the Copernican revolution and the anatomical work of Vesalius and his contemporaries, the impact of chemical medicine and the efforts of the Swiss physician and alchemist Paracelsus. Also here are insightful discussions of Harvey's discovery of the circulatory system, the work of Kepler, the effects of Galileo's telescopic discoveries, and other topics. A series of accompanying illustrations -- among them a Ptolemaic map, examples of Renaissance engineering, and portraits of Francis Bacon, Tycho Brahe, Vesalius, Kepler, and Galileo -- enhance this scholarly and informative work.

Perfect for my home office!

This 10 ft power strip has been a game changer for my home office. The cord is super long, which makes it easy to run along the wall or under furniture without any weird stretching. I really like the flat plug—it fits snugly behind my desk and doesn’t take up space like bulky ones do.
The 7 outlets are spaced well so I can actually use all of them without the plugs getting in each other’s way. The 4 USB ports (especially the 2 USB-C ones) are super handy for charging my phone, tablet, and earbuds without needing extra adapters. Everything charges quickly, and it feels solid and well-made.

Great so far

The first thing I liked about this is that the on/off switch has a mark on the ON side, unlike my last Belkin power strip, which had a switch where you couldn't tell which side was on or off. That Belkin was remote, which I really wanted, but the Belkin remote never worked reliably even from the start, so I'm happy with a surge protector without a remote but where I don't have to guess whether it's on or off if I can't see the light on the device plugged into it. Very reliable and solid performance so far and I also especially like the generous amount of space between the outlets - enough for the biggest plug without getting crowded. Also it's not heavy & clunky like some. And the 6 foot cord length works great, too - a big difference with the usual 5 foot cord. Also has 2 USB slots which I can use to charge my iPhone and USB chargers. All this at a decent price and it's not clunky or ugly. Have been using it daily all day for 3 months now with zero problems.

Very Good Purchase

I bought this for my fiancee at the time who had several things to plug in, but did not have the space and would keep rotating plugs. This was able to help her organise the place better and charge multiple things at once. She absolutely loves it.
It even has ports for phone chargers, which is very useful. The quality is very good as well. Strong and durable and looks good once you take care of it. Can blend in well and it looks good aesthetically.
