In third grade I started hearing voices, seeing people chasing me, feeling paranoid, confused, and delusional. I can't remember before third grade, but it is likely that I have had schizoaffective disorder all my life. I was afraid to tell anyone about my issues because I was afraid that the voices would kill me. There were two main voices: the blue and the red. They sometimes just mimicked me, or made me feel guilty about being bad, but they were the most dangerous when they commanded me to kill other people or myself. I found refuge from the voices by cutting myself to see the blood. This is a habit that has been almost impossible for me to stop. In the seventh grade I threatened my friends and teachers by writing anonymous threat notes. I eventually got caught and I was sent to a psychiatrist by the school. This was my first trip to a psychiatrist and I was eleven years old. I hated it. I cursed at her and wouldn't cooperate. I never went back. When I was twelve my family moved to Seattle, Washington. I thought I would be able to start over with my life and escape all my pain. Unfortunately, the voices and fears followed me. I was in eighth grade and I started hanging with a bad crowd. I used drugs and had sex. The voices were telling me I was a bad person, so I acted like a bad person. I almost got kicked out of school. I hit rock bottom on December 5, 1997. I attempted suicide. No one had any idea how much pain I was in and this really surprised them. My parents went into shock. My school counselor who had been helping had no idea that I was so severely ill. I told the doctors about the voices and the visions, but I couldn't admit to being paranoid because I was so sure that my delusions were real. The doctors tried to help me, but nothing helped. A lotion that you remember since childhood

Wow! Queen Helene Cocoa Butter. What can I say about this timeless classic lotion.
Well first off, if you were growing up on the free school lunch program or had almost no money in your household while living off other government subsidies, Queen Helene Cocoa Butter was on your shelf somewhere in your home because of its price. I mean it was a budget bottled lotion product that we all poked fun at when you were broke.
BUT, it actually does the job. Yeah it really does. For what it has to offer, it works well and has a scent that will remind you of your past growing up just like when you use to apply Ben-Gay on to you. There's a reason this product almost has a 5 out of 5 stars review on Amazon. Because it's a no frills, straight forward lotion that does help moisturize your skin that last for the whole day/night with a pleasant fragrance. You do have to put multiple applications onto you, but it does work and has the same excellent results you would expect from the bigger name products available on the market.
We can all have a good laugh about Queen Helene Cocoa Butter on what it represented for those with little money. However, it always did the job on protecting and softening your skin without spending so much money on more expensive lotions.
I'll always have a bottle in my house as long as I live because it WORKS!!!

Light and Effective

I don't like lotion. Specifically, I don't like putting it on my hands. But my skin said, "tough." Literally. So, I had to suck it up and find a solution to the dry, rough skin I was developing. I looked through a lot of products and decided to try this. I'm glad I did--I love it!
It doesn't feel greasy.
My skin soaks it all up, even on my hands (I just have to distract myself for a couple minutes after I've rubbed it all in so it can finish soaking in).
It smells good! (It's not a strong scent and doesn't cause a headache for me or my scent-sensitive spouse).
There's a ton of it, and a little goes a long way. It's cost effective.
So, it ticks all my boxes. I can afford it, it's effective, the smell is good, and I don't get the overwhelming urge to wash it off! Win!
