The Nikon Z5 is a full-frame mirrorless camera built around a 24.3 MP FX-format CMOS sensor paired with the EXPEED 6 image processor. It supports a native ISO range of 100–51,200, expandable for low-light applications, and delivers 14-bit NEF (RAW) output. The camera uses the Nikon Z-mount, allowing direct compatibility with Z-series lenses and full electronic integration.
Autofocus is based on a 273-point hybrid phase-detect/contrast AF system covering a wide portion of the frame, with eye-detection for humans and animals. Image stabilization is handled by an integrated 5-axis in-body VR system, providing stabilization with both native Z lenses and adapted F-mount optics.
The Z5 features a 3.69-million-dot OLED electronic viewfinder and a 3.2-inch tilting touchscreen LCD with 1.04-million-dot resolution. Continuous shooting is available up to 4.5 fps, and shutter speeds range from 30 s to 1/8000 s, including a silent electronic shutter mode.
Video capabilities include 4K UHD recording and Full HD up to 60p, with N-Log and HDMI output support for external recording. The body incorporates dual UHS-II SD card slots, weather-sealed magnesium alloy construction, USB-C connectivity, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth, and uses the EN-EL15c battery for extended operational flexibility.
