Dr. Pam Robbins wrote her first book, entitled What’s So Funny about Dementia? It consists of stories about her mother, who not only had dementia, but had a wonderful sense of humor as well. By popular demand, she wrote this book, The Brighter Side of Dementia, which is a collection of 100 short stories sent to her from caregivers from throughout the nation and beyond the borders of the USA.

Pam speaks nationally to caregivers, medical professionals and families who are dealing with dementia. She has also done extensive research and shares publicly about how to prevent this horrific disease.

ABOUT THE AUTHOR

Dr. Pam Robbins has been an educator for her entire adult life. Her first job was teaching high school teenagers when God called her to establish a large nonprofit organization called Project SOS (Strengthening Our Students). This organization impacted the lives of over 500,000 teenagers in five countries, including the USA, Haiti, the Dominican Republic, Uganda, and Russia. She and her staff of young adults substantially reduced teen pregnancies, drug and alcohol use, violence, and suicides wherever they taught.

After retiring from being an elected school board member and the CEO of Project SOS, she began counseling dementia caregivers. She herself had been a caregiver for four family members who eventually all died from the disease. She now uses those skills she learned to help others with solutions that work for them to lessen their stress, fears, and anxiety they are experiencing.
