This one day, in-person workshop takes place at CBA on Saturday, August 9th, from 1PM to 4PM ET.

  • Saturday, August 9th, from 1:00PM - 4:00PM ET

Please Note: Registration for this workshop closes on July 27th, at 11:59 pm.

About the Workshop:

Riso printing stands out as one of the most environmentally conscious printing methods available today. Using inks derived from rice bran—a typically discarded byproduct—the process avoids harsh chemical fixers, which are some of the most harmful ingredients in conventional inks. The Riso printer also uses minimal energy, consuming no more than a standard lightbulb. Even the masters, which carry the images, are made from banana fiber, further enhancing its sustainable footprint. Everything about Riso printing is thoughtfully designed with sustainability in mind—even the waste it generates has a unique beauty and creative potential!

In this hands-on workshop, we’ll explore inventive ways to reuse and repurpose Riso “trash,” such as empty ink tubes and used master sheets. Together, we’ll design new forms and applications for these materials, discovering how even the byproducts of the process can inspire fresh creations. By the end of the session, each participant will craft a unique illuminating object to take home, giving new life to Riso’s colorful leftovers.

A wonderful edition!
Format: Paperback
I highly recommend this edition above all others available. The translation is very clear and lucid and actually makes Timaeus and Critias real page-turners. Not only is the translation great, but the introductory material is incredible. While one review here mentions that the translation misses some of the nuance of Platonic thought (which I don't necessarily agree with that), the introduction more than makes up for that. So many available editions of Timaeus are written by reluctant scholars who act puzzled as to why they've been asked to introduce Timaeus when they are obviously either not fond of it, or dismissive of it as an authentic piece of Plato's canon. At last, we have an edition that is faithful and generous to the source material!

The origin of Atlantis was orally passed down from an Egyptian priest.
Format: Paperback
I haven’t even finished it yet because I’ve been very busy with college. However, it is fascinating to read the story of Atlantis. Personally, I believe it was a real lost city. Mythology can sometimes be true if it speaks about lost cities.
