The map depicts what was then the County of Moers, on the western bank of the Rhine River. The entire map is depicted in extraordinary detail, offering both topographical and political information, with forests and mountains beautifully rendered in profile. At the time this map was made the County of Moers was an independent principality of the Holy Roman Empire.

At the time this map was made the County of Moers was an independent principality of the Holy Roman Empire. Today is city of Moers is part of the Wesel District. A beautifully engraved title cartouche in the lower left quadrant includes a Coat of Arms along with a Lion and an Eagle and a man and woman. The map was printed shortly following the 1721 Covens and Mortier acquisition of De Wit's plates from Maria De Wit.
