Description
Elephant In The Room Stupendous Lighter Alcohol South Australia Shiraz 2024 (Australia)Rich and deeply purple in the glass, this wine opens with inviting aromas of red berries, blackcurrant, and violet florals, with a delicate whisper of cedarwood spice. On the palate, it's lush and full bodied, layering blood plum, dark chocolate, blueberry, and warming spice across a smooth, silky texture, elegantly rounded by a touch of oak and polished tannins. The Elephant in the Room wines are proudly large in scale and expansive in flavour.

The Elephant in the Room wines are proudly large in scale and expansive in flavour. Created to deliver full bodied and mouth-filling wines, Elephant in the Room gives consumers what they want- quality, flavour and something to talk about. Each wine is sourced from slow-ripening cool climate vineyards and partially matured in French Oak before final blending and bottling by Corey Ryan.
South Australian regions experienced a very dry growing season for the 2024 vintage. Frost, the lack of rain and poor weather during flowering has resulted in lower yields, however, the dry and consistent weather during picking resulted in a vintage of high-quality fruit.
Sourced from a selection of mature, dry-grown vineyards in Langhorne Creek managed by Jim Zerella. The fruit is partially hand-harvested before de-stemming and cool fermentation in small two tonne open fermenters with regular hand plunging. A small component of the blend is cool distilled whilst another undergoes ultra-membrane filtration. With very gentle handling, these components are masterfully blending back into the original parcel of wine to arrive at a well-integrated, lighter finished ABV. Followed by six months maturation in a combination of second-use oak and stainless steel before bottling.
Food Pairing: Generous and flavour-packed yet surprisingly light on its feet, it finishes with restrained alcohol and pairs beautifully with any red meat dish.
