Adams, known as Pahto, was once involved in a fiery battle with neighboring Mt. St. Helens, hurling molten rocks in a jealous feud over the beautiful Mt. Hood. This age-old tale passed down by the tribes depicts Pahto as a symbol of strength and endurance in the face of adversity.
